Real Madrid will host Chelsea for the return leg tonight.

The Los Blancos beat the Blues 3-1 at their home ground and are now favorites to advance in the semi-final of the competition.

The score would have been different if the away goal rule stood this season but Real Manager Carlo Ancelotti has no regrets about it.

“Not at all. We accept the rules as they are. It’s favourable for the balance and we accept it,” the Italian coach told Sky Sport Italia.

“[The victory in the first leg] can be a dangerous result if we think most of the work is done. We made a lot in the first leg and we must do the same tomorrow. We played well in the first half, we must do the same in the second half.”

Ancelotti was asked if Benzema has improved since the last time he coached him around ten years ago.

“I think he has more confidence in himself. He feels more important, but he is still humble. Despite being one of the best players in the world, he remains humble and it makes the difference.”

Gareth Bale has not yet decided on his future

Gareth Bale is definite to leave this summer as a free agent.

The Welshman will be out of contract this summer and will end his nine-year spell with the Galacticos.

He won four Champions League trophies, two La Liga titles and the Copa del Rey during his time at Madrid.

He might even win his third La Liga trophy this season who will turn 33 by the end of this season.

Bale has a futile relationship with the Real fans but his agent Jonathan Barnett believes the winger deserves a grand farewell.

“Bale deserves a grand farewell from the club. And no, we have not yet decided on the future,” his agent told Deportes Cuatro in Spain.

“He speaks Spanish. What happens is that people who do not know him say that he does not. Stupid and ignorant people who have not spoken to him. It’s a shame.

“He has always been very happy in Madrid, he arrived as a young man, his children were born in the city, he has donated a lot of money to Spanish hospitals for Covid and he loves the city and the club, and I think the parasites are the ones who speak ill of him.”

Real Madrid eyeing Sporting CP right-back Pedro Porro

Real Madrid are keeping tabs on Pedro Porro. The Sporting CP right-back has been phenomenal in the Primeira Liga

In the midst of Real Madrid’s chase of attackers, little is spoken about the other reinforcements required. Los Blancos would surely be a scary squad with Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland, but the defence demands just as much attention.

The situation at right-back is precarious. While Dani Carvajal isn’t the player he once was, Lucas Vazquez isn’t a natural fullback. There is a genuine need for a new right-back.

Pedro Porro is being monitored by Real Madrid. The Sporting CP right-back has been outstanding in the Primeira Liga, scoring three goals and assisting four times in only 14 appearances.

The Portuguese club wants about €30 million for their star. However, at that price, the player still promises to be a good buy.

Porro is one of the most defensively astute players in Portugal’s top division, averaging two tackles, an interception, a clearing, and five duels won per 90 minutes. Simultaneously, he averages 1.2 critical passes per game and creates seven huge opportunities.

One concerning aspect of the right-playing back’s is his proclivity for injury. He has already missed 92 days of activity this season due to muscle problems.

Porro, who is only 22 years old, guarantees not only excellence but also longevity. The fact that the Galacticos just invested in a young right-back in Vinicius Tobias is one element working against his acquisition.

Real Madrid had previously been connected with the Spanish player. They must, however, act quickly for the sake of the child.

Kylian Mbappe would prefer to move to Santiago Bernabeu this summer.

Kylian Mbappe is reportedly holding out for an improved contract offer from Real Madrid. However, Paris Saint-Germain is offering a two-year extension worth £125m.

The Frenchman’s current contract at the Parc des Princes is set to expire in June, and he is now free to negotiate pre-contract agreements with foreign clubs.

Real Madrid have been heavily linked with the 23-year-old and they are believed to be the frontrunners for his signature.

Mbappe told reporters that there are ‘new elements’ that will determine who he will play for next season.

According to Spanish journalist Guillem Balague, these ‘new elements’ refer to the financial aspects of his proposed new contract, with the Ligue 1 forward hoping Real Madrid will offer more than the £125m.

Balague adds that the Frenchman would prefer to move to Santiago Bernabeu this summer.

Carlo Ancelotti also admired Karim Benzema for ye another hattrick in the Champions League.

Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti admitted they were always in control for their comfortable win at Stamford Bridge.

Real Madrid secured the quarterfinal victory 3-1, courtesy of another hat-trick from Karim Benzema. The two goals lead can help them to earn a semifinal ticket.

Ancelotti said: “We had good control of the game, were dangerous on the counter-attack. It was a good night but it is only half-time and we have to look forwards.

“We showed good organisation, Benzema was fantastic. We found space between the lines. We have an advantage but on Tuesday it will be another game – they are the winners of the Champions League.

“Honestly, we had good build-up from the back and dangerous counter attacks.

“I think it helped us that our build-up play from the back was good, we found space between the lines. And then with Benzema and Vinicius we were dangerous.”

Ancelotti also talked about of his positioning of Fede Valverde.

“We were thinking of the position of Azpilicueta on the left to stop him [and] for that reason Valverde had one eye on him. It might have appeared like a line of five [in defence] but in reality, Azpilicueta stayed back and Valverde played as a winger.”

Liverpool could also win the race for Mbappe’s signature.

Real Madrid are reportedly still confident they can win the race for PSG forward Kylian Mbappe this summer.

The Frenchman will see his contract expiring at the end of this season and could be a free agent this summer. There seems to have been growing talk of him possibly signing a new deal at the Parc des Princes.

A report from 90min acknowledges this claim from RMC Sport journalist Daniel Riolo that Real Madrid remains confident of signing the France international to the Bernabeu.

FourFourTwo have reported there remains some “optimism” that Liverpool could still win the race for the signature of the 23-year-old.

Karim Benzema believes he would score twice the goals with Mbappe on his side.

The Real Madrid ace has given his thoughts on linking up with national teammate Kylian Mbappe at Santiago Bernabeu.

Both Benzema and Mbappe has scored 34 goals and 38 goals respectively and we can just imagine how this lethal duo would dominate the La Liga.

“Yes, I say it often. I like to play with him in the national team and I would like to play with him at the club level,” Benzema said. “I think we would score twice as many goals. Or maybe even triple! With Mbappé I understand myself well in the national team because we know what the other is going to do. For example, we both like to go to the left but we will never be there both at the same time”

“I wished him a good game (before the Real Madrid – PSG game). Personally, I didn’t have any special pressure on that match. I just wanted my team to win, because I was disappointed with the first leg. I got there (with a hamstring injury), I hadn’t played for a month. And we had been bad, we had been dominated the whole game, we hadn’t even attacked… That was when I knew it was going to be something different in the 2nd leg.”

Paris Saint-Germain superstar Kylian Mbappe has revealed that he is still undecided over his future at Parc des Princes, with his contract expiring this summer

It is commonly assumed that the French World Cup champion would leave PSG in favour of a move to his long-term rivals Real Madrid.

Los Blancos have been interested in Mbappe for some time, and they looked to have gained a footing in his pursuit following the thrilling Champions League comeback triumph over the French giants.

Mbappe’s contract problem, on the other hand, is set to go on, since he stated after the 5-1 thrashing of Lorient that he has yet to make a decision on his future.

The 23-year-old, who scored twice in the win, also stated that he is open to signing a new deal with PSG.

“If I had made my decision, I would have said so, I don’t have to answer to anyone. If I had made the decision, I would have taken responsibility. The good and the bad things, I have always assumed them by the way. said the young sensation Mbappe.

Reports suggest that PSG are planning to make Mbappe their captain in a bid to persuade him to sign an extension.

Thibaut Courtois admits he remains fond of Chelsea

Courtois hoped Real Madrid could avenge last season’s semi-final defeat.

Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois says he remains fond of Chelsea. Real Madrid will take on Chelsea in the Champions League quarterfinals.

While talking on his YouTube channel Thibaut Talks, Courtois said that he hoped Real Madrid could avenge last season’s semi-final defeat.

He said: “It’s very special. Last year we already played in the semi-finals and lost, so hopefully, this time, there will be a victory.”

“It will be different because there will be a crowd, and there may be some whistles in protest at my departure, but I hope people remember the beautiful moments of winning two leagues [and] the FA Cup,” he said.

He also added: “Chelsea will always be one of my teams because they helped me to become the goalkeeper I am now; they signed me when I was 18 and gave me the opportunity to play for Atletico and then play in the Premier League and win it.

“I still have friends there, and it’s always a pleasure to play against them. Apologise for my saves? No, it’s been almost four years now, and I defend my club.

“Obviously, I have a fondness for Chelsea, and if I see them win a title, I congratulate the people I know, but when they play against me I hope we win.”

Real Madrid have beaten a host of Premier League clubs, including Arsenal and Man City, to the signing of Brazilian defender Vinicius Tobias from Shakhtar Donetsk

The 18-year-old right-back has opted to leave Ukraine, taking advantage of Fifa and Uefa rules that enable international players to transfer temporarily.

Despite the fact that over seas players living in Ukraine and Russia are free to depart, the Premier League has said that such transfers would not be sanctioned.

Real Madrid have jumped in to arrange conditions for Tobias to join them on loan until the summer, ahead of a potential permanent five-year contract, which has been agreed in principle.

Tobias, who joined Shakhtar from Internacional in January, will first train with Real’s B team but will also spend time with the main side.

Arsenal and Manchester City were both interested in the child, but they dropped out as it became evident that the Premier League would not allow the transfer.

It’s a similar circumstance to when Southampton missed out on Brazilian Tete to Lyon because they were permitted to sign him now rather than wait until the summer.
