Nacho Fernandez grateful to Real Madrid.
He made his debut for The Galacticos on 23 April 2011 and just recorded over 200 appearances for them.
He said, “I can’t imagine being anywhere but this club. My whole family and I feel that Real Madrid has given us everything since we were youngsters. My dream has always been to make it into the first team. Now I’m still here and my dreams keep coming true every day I’m here and every game I play”.
“I’m a massive football fan and I keep all the things that I might value in the future. I’ve got my boots from my debut and the ball signed by all the manager and all the players, and these are things I had to keep. When they are young, every player dreams of playing for the first team one day.
“When that day comes you’re really nervous and loads of things are going through your head. I remember that I got cramp in my legs when there were 15 minutes remaining. Mourinho asked me if I wanted to go off and I didn’t want to. I made it until the end and everything worked out well. We won and I had a great game”.
Nacho continued, “I was very thrilled with the 200-match shirt, the 100-match shirt and the 50-match shirt. You go through the steps and you see that you’re still at Real Madrid, which is where I want to be. You keep developing as a player and as a person. It’s something special and it gives value to the work you’ve been doing for so many years. It makes you push forward with more desire to win more shirts like that”.
