Real Madrid have decided not to pursue Red Bull Leipzig talent Christopher Nkunku this summer

Nkunku had a fantastic season at the Red Bull Arena, putting up a number of promising displays for Leipzig in the offensive third. Last season, the 24-year-old scored 35 goals and added 19 assists in 50 appearances for the German club in various tournaments.

In the Bundesliga, the Frenchman has shown his worth in the final third, averaging 2.4 shots, 1.9 critical passes, and 1.9 dribbles per 90 minutes. After completing 81.8 percent of his attempted passes in the German top division, he has even taken care of the ball when interchanging control in the opponent’s half.

Nkuku has established himself as a prolific goal scorer in Germany, displaying excellent intuition to score a number of crucial goals for RB Leipzig last season. In the last third, he can even set up a few solid opportunities for his teammates. Nkunku is typically a centre striker, although he can also play as an offensive midfielder or a left-sided wide winger depending on the situation.

The French wonder possesses the speed to create havoc for opposing center-backs. Nonetheless, he has yet to demonstrate his worth outside of German football, therefore his large €120 million price tag is unjustified.

As a result, it appears that Real Madrid made the right option in calling off their chase of the Bundesliga star.
